Check What’s Coming in Marvel Studios' Phase 4, Officially Announce

Kevin Feige on Saturday announced the timeline for Marvel’s Phase 4 at Marvel Studios’ panel in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con. The new Phase for MCU will have 10 projects lined up for the next 2 years.

Eternals is the first announcement by Marvel Studios’ at SDCC, which is said to be released on November 6, 2020. This will be a completely new and distinct movie for the MCU. Angelina Jolie is cast as Thena, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak and others.

Marvel Phase 4: Official Lineup

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier are decided to be released in the Fall of 2020. Anthony Mackie while on stage, expressed what’s coming up for Falcon and said, “I’d like to explore the Falcon as a character. What kind of a man is this man? We’ll find out.”

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has been announced for release on February 12, 2021. During this, Feige announced, “The Mandarin is in this film,” played by Tony Leung. A 10 Rings logo was shown in Ant-Man, which Feige pointed out that fans probably missed the tease.

WandaVision is the next release in the timeline and was announced for Spring 2021. Feige said the show itself is strange, with Elizabeth Olsen adding, “We’re going to get weird, we’re going to go very deep.”

Loki was another announcement for Spring 2021. This series will connect the part of Loki in the Avengers: End Game. If you remember the scene where Loki steals the Tesseract you might be curious to know about what happened next. Feige said, “This series will tell you what happened to Loki right after that.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is all set to release on May 7, 2021. This will be the second Doctor Strange movie in the MCU. Scott Derrickson is directing Doctor Strange Part 2. The film will be a gothic horror and there is a psychedelic weirdness in it. 

“If I’m going to do it, it’s going to have to do what the comics did,” Derrickson said.

What If…? is Marvel’s first animated series which is decided to be released in Summer 2021. Feige said this is, “Something Marvel Studios has never had the opportunity to do before,” 

Hawkeye is also coming with a TV series which will be released in Fall 2021 starring Jeremy Renner. It was also announced that Kate Bishop will also be introduced in the series, but her role is unknown. Speaking about Hawkeye’s character in the show, Feige said, “We’ll explore more of his time as Ronin,”

Thor: Love and Thunder is the official title for the 4th Thor movie. It’s confirmed that Natalie Portman will play the role of female Thor. The release date of the movie is November 5, 2021. Chris Hemsworth [Thor] and Tessa Thompson [Valkyrie] are also in the movie.

The Black Widow, much-awaited movie is finally announced to be premiered on May 1, 2020. The whole cast was present including Stranger Things’ David Harbour during the event. A clip was shown in Hall H, in which Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow can be heard saying, “I used to have nothing but then I got this job, this family I was better because of it. But I’ve made mistakes, I can’t go back.” The city of Budapest, hints the prequel taking place in the period where both Hawkeye and Black Widow have referenced in past Avengers movies.

Blade, The Marvel comic from 1973 has also been announced for MCU’s Phase 4 timeline. It is revealed that Mahershala Ali will be starring in the movie.
