Capcom has just dropped a juicy little teaser that’s got zombie aficionados everywhere grabbing their cameras, loading up their golf clubs, and wondering, “Can I fit a chainsaw in a shopping cart?” That’s right, folks! Dead Rising is getting yet another facelift—this time with the boldly named Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster for “the newest generation of platforms.” Although the exact platforms and release date are still under wraps (seriously, Capcom, quit playing with our emotions!), the announcement has already stirred up a storm of excitement. Or maybe that’s just the wind from all those helicopter crashes.

Frank’s Back, Baby!

The reveal came straight from the horse’s mouth—well, more like Frank West’s mouth—via a teaser video on the Dead Rising YouTube channel. The 47-second clip doesn’t reveal much, but it features our favorite photojournalist-turned-zombie slayer shouting into the void: “Hello? Is this thing on? This is Frank! Frank West! Is anyone out there?” Frank, buddy, we’re all out here, eagerly waiting to find out just how many ways we’ll be able to creatively decimate the undead this time around.

The teaser doesn’t spill too many details, but the description gives us just a taste of what’s to come: “Grab your camera and prepare for the big scoop on Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. Stay tuned for more info soon.” If only Frank could’ve taken a clearer shot for us—he’s got a journalism degree for crying out loud!

Shiny New Look, Same Old Chaos

What we do know is that Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster promises a “brand new look” for the game that made us all realize just how many zombies could fit inside a shopping mall. Capcom released a few comparison screenshots alongside the teaser, showing the original 2016 remaster (yep, this game has had more makeovers than Cher) next to the upcoming deluxe version. And the difference? It’s like seeing Frank West after a trip to the spa and a new wardrobe. Think more detail, better lighting, and fewer jagged edges—because nothing says “next-gen” like smoother decapitations.

Will It Still Be the Ultimate Zombie Sandbox?

For those who’ve somehow missed out on the zombie-killing fun, the Dead Rising series is like the playground of your undead dreams. It’s the game that lets you smack zombies with everything from a frying pan to a giant teddy bear. Want to dress up as Mega Man while you do it? Sure thing! Want to take selfies with zombies mid-explosion? There’s an achievement for that! The real question is, will this remaster retain that same deliciously chaotic, anything-goes spirit, or is Frank trading his wacky antics for something more “mature”? We’re guessing (and hoping) it’s the former. After all, this game gave us the term “zombie clown”—there’s no going back after that.

What’s Next for the King of Zombie Photography?

While the trailer and screenshots have us salivating like zombies over fresh brains, we’re still in the dark about the big stuff: what platforms will this remaster grace with its presence? Will we see it on the Nintendo Switch, the console that’s been porting everything from Skyrim to DOOM Eternal? Or will Frank stick to more familiar territory like PlayStation and Xbox? And most importantly, what exactly does “Deluxe” mean here? More costumes? Extra modes? Maybe a new mode where you play as Frank’s camera trying to survive a zombie apocalypse—wait, maybe not.

So, When Can We Expect More?

Capcom’s keeping us on a tight leash for now, promising more information soon. So, until then, we’ll be replaying the trailer, zooming in on those comparison screenshots, and reminiscing about the good ol’ days of running around the Willamette Mall dressed as a Servbot while zombies hurled themselves at us.

In the meantime, remember: when life gives you zombies, take lots of pictures and always carry duct tape. Stay tuned, survivors, because if there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that Frank West is never far from the next big scoop! 📸
